Global Safari Fest is the new name of what was previously called International Homecoming Celebration. It’s a large-scale event that fills the Kent Student Center Ballroom with cultural performances, international tabling displays and a global buffet featuring tastes from around the world. 

Accomplished sociologist, TV host, podcaster, author �Ը������� alumna Bertice Berry, Ph.D.,used her alma mater as a familiar setting for her book "BlackWorld," which explores a "unique corner of heaven" where the living can visit with and learn from the deceased. She also some of her memories of �Ը������� and personal insights into the university's place in history. 

A dramatic, 15-foot-tall bronze sculpture stands on the Lefton Esplanade near the intersection of East Main Street and Haymaker Parkway. It’s a gift from a �Ը������� alumnus and outstanding supporter of the university. 

A popular place for students to visit when the weather is warmer, the Behind The Brain Plaza behind Merrill Hall has been covered in snow and ice for most of February.

Student performers are working on final rehearsals for “The Wiz,” which opens on Feb. 21 and runs through March 2 at �Ը�������’s E. Turner Stump Theatre.  

The inaugural Biennial Alumni Exhibition, currently on display in two galleries inside �Ը�������'s Center for the Visual Arts, opened on Jan. 17 and will end on Feb. 21. 

Student art clubs sold their creations as Valentine's Day gift ideas sale in the atrium of the Center for the Visual Arts.

Feb. 10-14 is I Heart Travel Week at �Ը�������. There are international activities scheduled on each day, culminating on Friday with the Global Safari Fest. 

It’s �Ը�������’s biggest international event of the year. Providing a fantastic finish to I Heart Travel Week’s five days of activities, Global Safari Fest celebrates �Ը�������’s international students with performances, a country fair and global cuisine.  

Vinyl record collecting has been a hobby since the first needle hit those grooves, but today’s college-age generation may be single-handedly helping keep this trend alive and thriving. But what is the draw to vinyl over more accessible and portable media such as MP3s and streaming services for Gen Z?

To celebrate the Lunar New Year last week, University Culinary Services offered a special menu of Chinese dishes at Eastway Center.

Lauren Copeland understands the importance of becoming familiar with artificial intelligence – and balancing technology with human thought and creativity – to train students to be confident in their skills and what they can provide to the industry. Her Fashion Fundamentals class was recently tasked with creating shoe designs using an AI platform.

In getting into the role of the lead character in "Trial By Fire," a play about banned books and activism, a �Ը������� student keenly feels the connections between the themes in the play and the university’s history of activism. 

The School of Fashion is globally recognized for its exceptional programming. It provides students with opportunities to apply their skills in real-world settings, but it takes awareness and nerve for students to recognize a golden opportunity to showcase those skills. Jesus Baldrich, a sophomore fashion merchandising major, saw one such chance and took it.

In the fall, when you hear the �Ը������� Marching Golden Flashes practicing, does it sound like it’s getting louder? It is. The band and the programs are growing.  

“Trial by Fire” is coming to �Ը������� in February. The play, written by �Ը������� alumnus and staff member Eric Mansfield, and inspired by a true story, is about banned books and a �Ը������� graduate who presented them to her high school class and how her students rose to activism to defend her. The performances are part of this year’s 55th May 4 Commemoration schedule, presented by the May 4 Education Committee. 

The work of a well-known Cleveland textile artist who earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from �Ը������� University will be on display at the �Ը������� University Museum beginning Jan. 24.

The Main Stage Season presented by �Ը������� University's School of Theatre and Dance is in the middle of a performance-packed season that includes "The Crucible," "Pride and Prejudice: The Musical," faculty dance concerts and "The Wiz."

The �Ը������� University Chorale set the tone for the season with their annual Holiday Choral Collage in late November.
