The College of Aeronautics and Engineering hosted the 2025 National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) SAFECON Region III competition Oct. 19–24 at the �Ը������� University Airport in Stow, Ohio. More students who want to be nurses will soon be able to pursue that dream. �Ը������� University's College of Nursing is launching a new pathway that will allow students without high school mathematics, chemistry or biology courses to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. 

Bruno Ast, the architect who designed the university's May 4 Memorial, has died at age 88. Ast won a national competition to design the memorial in 1986. In his , it was said that he was especially proud to have been chosen as architect for the project.

For Kent, Ohio, native and 2018 �Ը������� University graduate Stan Zalewski, mathematics has always been a big part of his life. Now a senior actuarial consultant at Nationwide Insurance, Zalewski recently reached a significant professional milestone — completing the multi-year process to earn the title of Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

�Ը������� University’s Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education recently was awarded a $50,000 grant to help train teachers in Southwestern Nigeria.

Undergraduate students from any major who are interested in pursuing an international internship in East and Southeast Asian countries may be eligible for up to $6,500 to help make the experience affordable.

�Ը������� University’s Office of Global Education is offering the awards through the KSU Freeman Fellows Internship in Asia Program, which this year has received a grant of $85,000 to offer support for up to 12 students.

�Ը������� University's Brain Health Research Institute recently held its annual Neuroscience Symposium 2025, Conference and Research Exchange. The two-day event, which took place at the �Ը������� University Hotel & Conference Center, highlighted the research of �Ը������� faculty and students.

Delonte Goodman is a graduate student in �Ը�������'s College of Aeronautics and Engineering. He will complete his master's program in mechatronics in December, before moving on to his doctoral program in the spring semester. He is active in multiple student and professional organizations at �Ը������� that enhance and complement his studies and also allow him to assist and mentor undergraduate students. 

As part of �Ը�������’s ongoing 2025-26 Thomas Schroth Visiting Artist Series, the university hosted seven-time Grammy nominee Bobby Sanabria as a guest artist. He led master classes, rehearsals and lectures focused on music, business and social change.

�Ը������� University’s School of Theatre and Dance, Wick Poetry Center and Brain Health Research Institute joined forces for an Oct. 1 dance performance that set poetry to motion.

�Ը������� Vice President and Director of Athletics Randale L. Richmond announced today that Mark Carney has been named the 24th head football coach of the Golden Flashes, removing the interim tag he has held since April 2025.
