�Ը�������'s Golden Flashes baseball team started their 2026 season strong with a series win over the University of Tennessee Volunteers followed by two additional series wins.

Delrecco Gillespie, senior professional studies major and member of �Ը�������’s men's basketball team, was recently featured in a recent NCAA article that detailed how setbacks like injury and grief fueled Gillespie’s drive to play as if it were his last chance to be on the court.  

The �Ը������� baseball team captured a 9-5 victory over #13 Tennessee on Sunday afternoon at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, clinching their first series win over a ranked opponent in the Jeff Duncan Era and their first since 2012.

�Ը������� Men's Basketball (20-7, 11-3 MAC) clinched a berth in the 2026 MAC Tournament with a 78-71 victory over Bowling Green State University on Tuesday night at the Stroh Center. 

�Ը������� Vice President and Director of Athletics Randale L. Richmond have announced that head baseball coach Jeff Duncan signed a contract extension to keep him leading the Golden Flashes through the 2030 season.

�Ը������� University announced today that women’s wrestling will become the athletics department’s 20th varsity sport, marking a historic addition to the Golden Flashes athletics lineup and a milestone for collegiate athletics in Ohio. �Ը������� becomes the first NCAA Division I institution in the state and fifth in the nation to sponsor women’s wrestling.

�Ը������� Vice President and Director of Athletics Randale L. Richmond announced today that Mark Carney has been named the 24th head football coach of the Golden Flashes, removing the interim tag he has held since April 2025.

More than a hundred former student-athletes, donors and professional golfers gathered for a special Golf Alumni reunion from Friday, Sept. 26, through Saturday, Sept. 27.

�Ը������� University unveiled the first full-size statue of baseball legend Thurman Munson, honoring the former Yankees captain and university alumnus who died in a plane crash at the height of his career.

Originally from Riverland, Australia, �Ը������� University punter Jake Stoeckel, a first-year exercise science major, made his American football debut at the start of this season. 

Da'Realyst Clark's 100-yard kickoff return touchdown with 5:28 remaining lifted �Ը������� to a thrilling 21-17 victory over Merrimack on Saturday afternoon at Dix Stadium. The dramatic win marked �Ը�������'s first victory since September 16, 2023, when they defeated Central Connecticut State 38-10.

The �Ը������� Golden Flashes will open their 2025 football season Saturday when they host Merrimack College at Dix Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.

�Ը������� University alumnus Antonio Gates was officially enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 2, delivering an emotional speech that highlighted his years as a Golden Flash and thanked the coaches who helped launch his improbable journey from college basketball to NFL stardom.

Two �Ը������� University alumni will be in the spotlight this week as the Pro Football Hall of Fame celebrates its Class of 2025, with Antonio Gates set for enshrinement Saturday and Mary Kay Cabot receiving prestigious recognition for her four decades of sports journalism excellence.
