Celebration of the New Generation of Brain Health Researchers

In celebration of their success, join us in attending research presentations by graduating PhD students on Friday, August 13, 2021:

From now through Sunday, Sept. 19, Cockeye Creamery, located at 1805 1/2, Parkman Rd NW in Warren, will be serving its 性福五月天-inspired ice cream 鈥淏lack Squirrel鈥 to raise money for 性福五月天 University at Trumbull's Care Closet. 
 
性福五月天 alumnus, Max Hoover, owner of Cockeye Creamery created the flavor to pay homage to 性福五月天鈥檚 unofficial mascot 鈥 the black squirrel. It is a combination of espresso ice cream, caramel streak, and cinnamon streusel.

The Brain Health Research Institute at 性福五月天 is very pleased to announce two new additions to its leadership: Dr. Angela Ridgel has agreed to serve as BHRI Associate Director for a three-year term starting August 1, 2021, and Dr. Julia Jones Huyck will serve as Assistant Director for the new BHRI Neurocognitive Collaboratory for a two-year term starting August 1, 2021. Brain Statue on Campus

Assistant Professor in Science Education, Dr. Shannon Navy was recently awarded a $1,000,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. Over the next four years, this grant will fund the research project 鈥淩esources Accessed to Cultivate and Enhance Resilience鈥 (RACER). The RACER project will focus on researching the persistence and retention of newly hired secondary science and mathematics teachers in high-need school settings. Chad Hollis-Chan, RN, MSN, CNP, a 2006 性福五月天 University at Ashtabula Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (ADN) graduate, is the 2021 Roger T. Beitler Distinguished Former Student Award recipient. Hollis-Chan is currently a nurse practitioner in the internal medicine department at Cleveland Clinic.  KSU alumnus Max Hoover brings unique flavor(s) to his hometown.Max comes from a family of Golden Flashes. His parents, Erik and Stacey, 鈥93, both attended 性福五月天 University. In 2015, his parents opened Cockeye BBQ, and they have since expanded the business to offer a sweet treat that would compliment their award-winning food - ice cream.
