From now through Sunday, Sept. 19, Cockeye Creamery, located at 1805 1/2 Parkman Road NW in Warren, will be serving its �Ը�������-inspired ice cream “Black Squirrel” to raise money for �Ը������� University at Trumbull’s Care Closet.    �Ը������� alumnus Max Hoover, owner of Cockeye Creamery, created the flavor to pay homage to �Ը�������’s unofficial mascot: the black squirrel. �Ը������� University’s Flashes Fighting Hunger Contactless Food Drive will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 1-4 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Hilltop Drive. The collection station will be located on Hilltop Drive in front of Cartwright Hall. The �Ը������� University at Ashtabula community mourns the loss of former student and long-time benefactor John J. Cogan, Ph.D., who passed away August 15, 2021 at the age of 79 at his home in Bloomington, Minn. Dr. Cogan, who attended what was then called the �Ը������� Academic Center in Ashtabula from 1960-1962, was the first recipient of the Roger T. Corrie Slawson, M.F.A. ’06 has been awarded the Cleveland Arts Prize for Mid-Career Artist in Visual Arts for 2021. She will receive her award at the 61st annual awards event at the Cleveland Museum of Art on October 13, 2021.  Five monetary prizes of $10,000 each are awarded to artists for Emerging, Mid-Career and Lifetime Acheivement categories for exemplary work in arts disciplines that include Design, Literature, Theatre & Dance, Music, and Visual Arts.
