In addition to tuition and fees, you may see charges from other services, such as Parking Services, Flash Books or Distance Learning. You can learn more about those fees below.
Arts Fee An Arts Fee is assessed during fall and spring terms to all Kent Campus undergraduate students enrolled in six or more credit hours with freshman, sophomore or junior status. This fee grants students one free ticket to designated theater, dance or music events. Visit the Arts Pass & Free Student Tickets website for more information.
Distance Learning Instructional Fee The Distance Learning (DL) Instructional Fee applies to undergraduate and graduate students on all campuses enrolled in DL courses.
For DL courses: $15 per credit hour.
Fully online programs: $10 per credit hour.
Flash Books Select courses provide students an opportunity to obtain required materials through the Learning Management System (LMS), which can reduce the cost of materials by up to 80%. Students enrolled in these courses will receive an email before classes start detailing the available content, cost and opt-out date. If you opt out, you鈥檒l need to obtain the materials yourself. The International Student Activity Fee is a required fee that funds activities, events, programming and other international student services.
The International Student Health Insurance Fee is automatically charged when students register for classes. International students must have health insurance comparable to the university-sponsored student health plan. Legal Services Fee
Student Legal Services (SLS) provides affordable legal assistance to Kent Campus students. Undergraduate and graduate students are automatically charged a nominal fee per term to participate. To learn more about SLS or receive instructions on how to opt out of the fee, visit the SLS website.
Overload Fee
Students with 19 or more credit hours and at least one Kent Campus credit hour are subject to an additional per-credit-hour fee for every credit of 19 or above.
Undergraduate students, both in-state and out-of-state students, will be charged the in-state undergraduate per credit hour rate for credited hours above the full-time tuition range (cap), which is 12-18 credit hours.
Graduate students, both in-state and out-of-state students, will be charged the in-state graduate per credit hour rate for credited hours above the full-time tuition range (cap), which is 11-18 credit hours for graduate students.
To park on campus, all students must register their vehicle and obtain a parking permit. Permits may be charged to your student account. For more information and contact information, visit the Parking and Transit Services website.
Program fees, tied to the student鈥檚 primary academic program, are charged each semester and are non-refundable unless all courses are dropped during the 100% tuition credit period.
Special course fees, assessed per credit hour each semester, are detailed in the Fee Register. 鈥淎CB鈥 fees are based on actual expenses, including travel, practicum requirements and books.

If your external scholarships did not pay to your account...
External scholarships will not be paid to the account until the funds are received at 性福五月天 and processed. This can take 2-3 days from the date of receipt.
Please be aware that the full cost of attendance consists of tuition and fees, as well as food and housing (if living on the Kent Campus), books, course materials, supplies and equipment, transportation and personal expenses.
The expenses directly owed to 性福五月天 University include tuition and fees. For students living on the Kent Campus, this also includes housing and meal costs. For commuter students who purchase a meal plan, it includes the cost of that plan. Other expenses not included in the tuition and fees totals can be found on our cost of attendance website.
Students and authorized users with access to statements will receive an email to their 性福五月天 Email Address when a new eBill is available for viewing. Please note, an eBill is a snapshot of the student account at the time it鈥檚 published. New charges, payments or financial aid adjustments may be applied after the bill is generated. Not every account change will trigger a new eBill, so we recommend checking your in FlashLine for the most up-to-date account balance.

No, not all registration activity may result in an eBill being generated prior to a due date. Therefore, it is important to verify due dates and view the most up-to-date account balance through your in FlashLine.
A person other than the student may have the ability to view and pay the bill as an Authorized User. Students may follow these steps to create an authorized user in the payment portal
Sign in to FlashLine
Select "Student/Finances" and select "My Student Account Activity Detail鈥
Choose "My Account" on the menu bar
Scroll down to 鈥淧ayers鈥 section then select 鈥淪end a payer invitation鈥
Enter the authorized user鈥檚 first name, last name and email address
Enter a 鈥淢essage to payer鈥 if desired
Select 鈥淪end invitation鈥 button
An email will be sent to the email address entered in the invitation. Once an Authorized user account is created, students can remove access at any time and resend payer invitations. No 性福五月天 staff can make changes to the Authorized User account or reset their passwords.
If an Authorized User account has already been created but the login or password is unknown, the Authorized User can reset their password from 鈥淔orgot password鈥 on the Authorized User log-in page. If the Authorized User has access to multiple student accounts, the Forgot Password link will reset the password to Authorized User account.
There are several ways to make a payment using a credit/debit card, checking or savings account via 性福五月天's online payment portal
Students: Sign in to your tab in FlashLine. After signing in, select My Student Account Activity Detail to view your charges or Make Payments/Payment Plan to pay your balance.
Guest Users: Guest users will need the student's KSU ID number and their last name to make a payment on the student's account.
Authorized Users: Are those that the student has authorized to access their online student account information and/or make a payment. For more information about becoming an authorized user please refer to "How do I setup an authorized user".
Non-Student/ARO accounts: Are non-student accounts that have been set up for billing and payments of goods/services received from 性福五月天 University. For more information about non-student billing please visit the ARO FAQ website.
Check payments should be made payable to 性福五月天 University. Payments by mail should be sent to 性福五月天 University, Bursar's Office, PO Box 5190, Kent, Ohio 44242
Students with an unpaid past due balance of $200 or more, from a prior term, are subject to cancellation. You will be notified via your 性福五月天 email address if your schedule is canceled. View cancellation dates on our schedule cancellation page.
Do not assume that not paying for classes will cause your schedule and housing contract (if applicable) to be canceled. If you will not be attending, you should contact your advisor to drop your classes and contact University Housing.
