Classes, Registration & Advising

How do I schedule an advising appointment and find my advisor?
College Credit Plus students are required to meet with a 性福五月天 academic advisor before scheduling courses. Schedule your advising appointment through KSU Navigate.

Schedule an Advising Appointment

性福五月天 has multiple campuses, and advisors are assigned by the campus offering courses. Students can find advisor information in FlashLine by navigating to:
Student > Dashboard > My Advisor

How should I prepare for my advising appointment?
Academic advisors help students make decisions that match their future goals. Before meeting with an advisor, students should prepare questions and look ahead at courses for the semester. Students can prepare for appointments by looking at:

  • 性福五月天 pathways to explore interests
  • High school requirements that may be met through CCP coursework
  • Course availability for the upcoming semester
  • Transportation needs and possible time conflicts

Don't be afraid to reach out to academic advisors for help with any university questions or issues.

How do I register for classes?
After completing required advising, register for your approved courses through FlashLine. 性福五月天's Registration & Records page provides current registration instructions, dates and deadlines.

Is there a limit to the number of courses I can take?
CCP students can take up to 30 credit hours per academic year and 120 total CCP credit hours over the course of their participation. This includes every CCP course that students take at a college or university as well as any CCP courses taught at students' local high school.

This means that students cannot exceed the CCP credit limit when combining the credits of the summer, spring and fall semesters. Exceeding the 30 credit hour limit will result in additional fees for course enrollment.

Working closely with advisors can help students make the most of their credits and stay on schedule to complete their high school and college requirements.

What semesters can I take courses?
CCP students can take courses during the same semesters as traditional 性福五月天 Students: spring, summer and fall.

Most students take courses during the fall and spring, but summer courses are also available to keep students on track.

Important note on summer enrollment
Students who choose to enroll in CCP during the summer will have to complete courses in a shorter 5-8 week semester, instead of a traditional 15-week semester. Because of this, summer courses often have quicker, heavier schedules to account for the shorter window.

Students should also be aware that summer courses do not count toward academic eligibility for the upcoming school year.

Can you take CCP courses at multiple colleges or universities?
Students are permitted to take College Credit Plus courses at more than one college or university during the same academic year. The state of Ohio's College Credit Plus rules allow students to participate at any number of participating colleges as long as they follow each school's admission and registration process.

Students looking to participate in CCP courses at multiple colleges or universities should be aware that:

  • Each college makes its own admissions decision
  • Students register for courses separately at each institution
  • All CCP courses count toward students' limit of 30 credits per academic year
  • Students are responsible for meeting each institution's deadlines, policies and procedures

Taking courses at different institutions may allow students to enroll in specific courses and meet specific requirements that build toward their future, but students must be aware that CCP funding and credit rules remain the same.

Grades, Credits & Transcripts

How do my CCP courses count toward high school graduation?
For students enrolled under Option B, completed CCP courses earn students high school and college credit at the same time. According to state guidelines, each CCP course matches specific high school requirements.

Students must work closely with their high school counselor to maintain momentum toward graduation and see how CCP credits can help them.

How CCP courses are matched to high school requirements

  • English, math, science, and social studies CCP courses can fulfil core high school requirements
  • Kent core and elective CCP courses may count as high school electives
  • Some CCP courses may also meet special graduation requirements, such as financial literacy or fine arts, depending on the district

CCP students should review their course schedule with their high school counselor before registration to make sure that CCP credits are counting toward students' graduation requirements. Matching courses with requirements helps students stay on track with their high school graduation while also fulfilling credit that can be used at 性福五月天 or transferred to another college or university.

Will my 性福五月天 final grades affect my high school transcript?
Student transcripts may be affected by CCP credits, depending on their enrollment type. When new students join the CCP program, students have the option to enroll under Option A or Option B.

Option B (State-funded, most common)

  • Tuition, fees and textbooks are free to the student
  • Students earn both high school and college credit鈥斝愿N逶绿 grades appear on students' high school transcript
  • Students' CCP grades will be identical on their high school transcripts (a college grade of A equals a high school grade of A)
  • Local high schools determine how CCP grades are weighted on high school requirements and transcripts

Option A (Self-pay)

  • Tuition, books, and fees are paid by the student
  • Students can choose to earn only college credit or both college and high school credit鈥攕tudents have the option to keep their high school and college credits separate.

Students should check with their high school counselor to understand how CCP credits appear on a transcript and how they will affect class rank or GPA.

How do I view my grades?
Students can view midterm and final grades in FlashLine. Instructors post grades at the end of the semester and, once submitted, they appear on students' 性福五月天 record.

Viewing grades in FlashLine
Students can view their midterm and final grades in FlashLine by logging in and selecting:
Student > Resources > Grades and Transcripts > View Final Grades for the Current Term (or View Midterm Grades)

After selecting the term, students can view their official course grades.

Viewing transcripts in FlashLine
Students can also view their unofficial transcript through FlashLine. Here, students can view unofficial grades and GPAs throughout their years at 性福五月天.

Students can view their unofficial transcript by navigating:
Student > Resources > Grades and Transcripts > View Unofficial Transcript

Viewing an unofficial transcript can help students track their progress with CCP and see their grades and how they affect their GPA.

Viewing grades in Canvas
Students may also see individual assignment grades and overall course progress in Canvas throughout the semester. Canvas shows scores, feedback and due dates that can help students stay on track. While Canvas shows individual assignment scores, FlashLine is the only place where students can view their official midterm and final grades.

Applying CCP grades to high school progress
Final grades are reported directly to high school guidance offices for Option B students at the end of the semester. These credits will be applied to students' high school transcript and GPA, allowing them to earn progress in both high school and college.

Confirm whether this should link to Registration & Records.

How do I dispute a grade?
Students who believe a score or final grade is incorrect should contact the course instructor to respectfully address the concern about the grade and how it was calculated. Many issues can be resolved by checking assignment scores, missing work or grading policies listed in the course syllabus.

If the concern is not resolved, students may request a formal grade review through 性福五月天's Grade Grievance Process.

Disputing a grade
Students who feel they have been treated unfairly can navigate 性福五月天's Grade Grievance Process to make sure their concerns are heard and addressed. The best first step for students is to reach out to their academic advisor to communicate the issue.

By clearly and professionally communicating the issue, academic advisors can help guide students through the next steps to resolve the concern. Advisors are students' number one resource and are here to help them navigate any academic issue.

Important note on 性福五月天 grade grievances
Grade grievances follow 性福五月天's academic policies, not high school procedures. High schools cannot override or change a student's grade in a 性福五月天 CCP course.

How do I send my 性福五月天 transcript to another college or university?
Students can file an official request to transfer their 性福五月天 transcript to another college or university in FlashLine. Students can request a transcript by navigating:
Student > Resources > Academic Records > Request Official Transcript

The receiving university will review the transcript to see how 性福五月天 courses might cover select requirements. Some courses may not be applicable or may transfer as electives. Students may help the university or college review process by keeping syllabi or course descriptions on-hand from previous courses.

Confirm whether this should link to Registration & Records.

How do I have credits from another college or university applied to my 性福五月天 transcript?
Outside college credits do not change CCP eligibility or funding. While outside credits cannot be added to students' transcripts in high school, it is important to notify advisors of any past college or AP credits. With this information, advisors can help students avoid repeating classes to get closer to achieving future goals.

Other college credits may be applied to a student's transcript after high school graduation. Once students graduate, they can reapply to 性福五月天 as traditional students and request that an official transcript is sent from the previous college or university. These credits may be applied to help students progress toward a major.

Will my 性福五月天 credits transfer to another college or university?
Most CCP credits earned at 性福五月天 transfer to public and private institutions across Ohio and the nation. However, how credits apply to students' graduation progress and requirements can vary by college and major.

New CCP students must follow the "First 15" rule by taking Level I (general education) courses for their first 15 credits at 性福五月天. Level I courses are designed to be highly transferable to provide students with more flexibility early on.

Many other 性福五月天 courses are also transferable, allowing students to keep their progress toward a degree.

How CCP credits transfer
性福五月天 courses appear on students' official transcripts, which can be sent directly to another college or university after high school graduation. Depending on the receiving college or university's policies, some courses may transfer differently or may not be applicable. Students can help the transfer process by keeping syllabi and course descriptions to add to the review process.

Students planning to attend another college or university should check that school's transfer credit guidelines and talk to an academic advisor to see how 性福五月天 CCP credits fit into future degree plans.

Changing or Withdrawing From a Course

Changing or Withdrawing From a Course

How do I drop or withdraw from a course?
Before dropping or withdrawing from a course, talk with both your 性福五月天 advisor and school counselor.

Changing your schedule can affect your high school graduation requirements, college academic record and possible financial responsibility. Make sure you understand the implications and applicable deadlines before making a change.

What if I missed the drop or withdrawal deadline?
If a student misses the official drop or withdrawal deadline, the course must remain on their schedule for the rest of the term. Students must continue to attend class and complete assignments to avoid failing the course, which can affect CCP eligibility and may require repayment.

Students may also be required to pay for a course if they:

  • Exceed the 30 credit hour annual limit
  • Take courses not approved by the local school district
  • Repeat a CCP course
  • Fail or withdraw late from a course

Even if the drop or withdrawal deadline has passed, students should reach out to their academic advisor and high school counselor. Advisors and counselors can help students understand how the situation might affect their graduation progress, CCP funding and use student resources to try to find the best path to success.

Students seeking academic help should reach out to their instructor to see if there are tutoring services available.
