Your �Ը������� account gives you access to the university systems and services you'll use as a CCP student.

Follow the instructions you receive after admission to establish your account and log in to FlashLine, �Ը�������'s student portal.

You'll use FlashLine to access important student information and services throughout your time at �Ը�������.

Once you're admitted, �Ը������� will begin sending important CCP information to your �Ը������� email account.

Check it regularly for information about orientation, advising, registration and other steps you'll need to complete before classes begin.

Tip: Continue checking the personal email address you used on your CCP application as you complete the admission process, too.

CCP communication guidelines

CCP students must communicate clearly and respectfully with instructors, faculty, and peers. To communicate effectively, students should use their university email. When writing an email:

• Write a specific subject line
• Add a greeting to the top of the email (such as “Hello,” or “Good morning,”)
• State the student’s name and course
• Clearly explain why they are reaching out
• Use proper spelling and grammar
• Write in full words and sentences
• Use respectful language
• Proofread the email

Your online orientation is offered through Canvas, �Ը�������’s online learning platform used for courses, assignments and other academic activities.

Here’s what to watch for:

• First, you’ll receive your congratulatory welcome email with instructions to logging into FlashLine.
• One day later, you will receive your orientation email and instructions.

Tip: You cannot access orientation until you’ve logged into FlashLine.

New student orientation

Students must complete the online orientation to begin their education with CCP. The online new student orientation will:

• Inform students of CCP protocols
• Familiarize students with the program
• Give students a tour of course sites

Finding orientation in Canvas

Students can complete the new student orientation in Canvas by clicking on the Canvas icon at the top of the FlashLine page page. After completing all modules, the “Next Steps” section displays instructions to schedule an advising appointment.

Maturity questionnaire

At the end of the orientation, students will need to fill out a maturity questionnaire. In this document, students must acknowledge that they understand that CCP course content may be mature and will not be changed for underaged students.

College Credit Plus students are required to meet with a �Ը������� academic advisor before scheduling courses.

During your appointment, you and your advisor will discuss your academic goals and choose courses that fit your needs. Your courses must also fit your middle or high school schedule and be approved by your school counselor.

When can I schedule my advising appointment?

New CCP students can schedule an advising appointment after completing the new student orientation in FlashLine.

Students should check their �Ը������� email regularly to schedule an advising appointment in the registration window and secure a spot in their courses.

Ways to schedule an advising appointment

�Ը������� University manages advising through the specific campus offering the courses. To make the advising process easier for students, �Ը������� offers several ways to schedule appointments.

• Online through KSU Navigate
• By emailing an academic advisor
• By calling the campus CCP office

Students can access KSU Navigate from a mobile device (from the app) or on a web browser.

After meeting with your �Ը������� academic advisor, you'll be ready to register for your approved courses.

Registration is completed through FlashLine. �Ը�������'s Registration & Records resources provide instructions for registering for classes, along with information about registration dates and deadlines.

Once you're registered, take some time to get familiar with the tools, resources and information you'll need as a �Ը������� student.

Know Where You're Going

If you're taking classes on a �Ը������� campus, and see parking and transportation information before your first day.

Do I need a parking pass?
Most CCP students do not need parking passes, unless they attend class on-campus often. Students need a parking pass when:

• Driving to campus for an in-person class
• Parking in student lots at any �Ը������� campus
• Attending any events where parking enforcement is active

Students who attend class online, are dropped off at a class or visit campus through short, designated visitor parking do not require a parking pass.

How to get a parking pass
Students can get a parking pass by:

• Visiting /parking
• Signing in with �Ը������� credentials
• Selecting Purchase a Permit
• Choosing the permit that matches the student's campus and needs

Students who are parking on-campus for a course must purchase a parking pass in advance to make sure they do not receive any citations or fees.

Get Familiar With Your �Ը������� Tools

Make sure you can access FlashLine, your �Ը������� email and the university technology you'll use for your courses.

Computer and internet requirement
Students must make sure that they have or have access to a computer for assignments and coursework. The computer must have a stable internet connection so students can reliably access course content and complete their work on time.

Textbooks are a necessary, fundamental learning tool for all students. CCP students must make sure that they have ordered their textbooks and course materials before the beginning of the semester to ensure that they have their textbooks for courses.

Find Your Book List & Course Materials
Textbook access depends on the course's format. Some courses use traditional textbooks that can be ordered through FlashLine. Other courses use Flash Books which provides digital textbooks and course materials directly through Canvas.

You can find the required textbooks for your courses by: 

1. Logging into FlashLine
2. Going to Student > Courses and Registration > View or Print Course Schedule and Purchase Textbooks.

After selecting the course term, students can click "Purchase Books from the �Ը������� University Bookstores" to view a detailed list of all required textbook materials.

Students who are taking courses from different �Ը������� campuses may be required to purchase textbooks in groups based on each individual campus. For example, students taking courses online or in person from the Kent campus and the Geauga campus may be required to purchase textbooks separately.

Digital Textbooks
Some textbooks may be accessed in digital form. Digital textbooks are ordered through the same system as traditional textbooks and can be accessed through a student's �Ը������� email after purchasing.

Flash Books
Many �Ը������� courses use Flash Books to allow students to access course materials directly in Canvas. Flash Books are charged directly on students' accounts as a Flash Books fee and are available on the first day of the semester.

IMPORTANT: To access Flash Books, students must opt in at the start of the semester. Opting out will remove students' access to required textbooks and course materials if students don't plan to purchase required materials separately.

How Are CCP Textbooks Paid For?
CCP textbook costs depend on students' enrollment type and CCP funding status.

High School Students
High school students should work closely with their school counselor to make sure their textbooks are ordered correctly, and the funding award is applied. Local high schools are responsible for payment and have final say, often offering textbooks directly from the school.

Some schools may provide students with access to textbooks if courses are taken directly at the high school.

Important Note for Self-Pay CCP Students
Students who choose to self-pay for CCP courses are responsible for the costs of textbooks and required materials, including Flash Books charges that are listed in FlashLine under:
