What's Poppin'? A special treat from ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì and Daisy Pops!

Flash the ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì mascot poses with a smiling Daisy Pops owner behind the shop counter, with four ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì-themed cake pops on display and a balloon garland and neon "Pop Shop" sign behind them.

The ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì social media team has cooked up something sweet for our community just in time to welcome the class of 2030.

Well… technically it was more baking than cooking, but just know, like always, we're in the kitchen. And now we're taking you behind the scenes of a new video and social media contest.

Flash the ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì mascot, wearing a teal Daisy Pops apron over a navy ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì shirt, stands at a stainless steel work table in the Daisy Pops kitchen while a videographer films in the foreground.

Thanks to a chance meeting at another local event, Bangr at the Hangar (shoutout to our friends at Goodyear), members of the ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì social media team started chatting with the team from downtown Kent staple, Daisy Pops. We were both getting ready for the start of the students' return to campus when an idea for a collaboration popped into our heads.

After a few weeks of coordinating times, dates and filming schedules (Flash is one busy bird, but of course made things work for our downtown friends), we were able to finish the video you'll find !

But that was just the beginning.

Four white chocolate-dipped cake pops shaped like a lightning bolt, a circular ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì logo, a lightning bolt outline and the letter "K," decorated in blue and gold sprinkles, displayed on a stand in front of Daisy Pops' pink neon "The Pop Shop" sign.

The university community has been working together to welcome back our students, including the newest class of Golden Flashes. And one of the annual events that makes KSU Kickoff such an exciting time each year is Flashes First Friday. Hosted by the Center for Student Involvement, the incoming class has an evening to walk from campus (yes, literally walk, because Kent Campus is just minutes away from the heart of downtown) to get a chance to learn about all the incredible local businesses.

Daisy Pops, which has been a partner in the Flashes First Friday event, is providing cake pops for 30 (yes, THIRTY!) contest winners, available for pickup Friday evening.

So, if you follow both ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì's and Daisy Pops' Instagram accounts and drop a comment tagging who you'll want to spend time with downtown this semester, you're automatically entered to win. That's it.

Winners will be notified by 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21 via Instagram direct message with directions on how to pick up their delish ÐÔ¸£ÎåÔÂÌì x Daisy Pops treat.
