性福五月天 Orchestral Conducting Workshop

The 性福五月天 Orchestral Conducting Workshop offers a unique combination of extensive podium time, expert mentorship, high-level repertoire and reflective learning鈥攁n ideal environment for conductors committed to developing their craft. Join us for three inspiring days of artistry, growth and music-making at 性福五月天 University.

February 25鈥27, 2026

The 性福五月天 Orchestral Conducting Workshop is an intensive three-day training experience designed for young conductors, aspiring graduate-level conductors, high school orchestra directors, and music educators seeking to refine their baton technique and develop meaningful podium experience. Hosted on the Kent Campus, the workshop provides each participant up to 60 minutes of podium time with the 性福五月天 University Orchestra, as well as small ensembles, piano, and daily technique sessions.

Through structured podium rotations, in-depth technique classes, and guided video review, participants receive individualized feedback focused on gesture clarity, musical communication, rehearsal strategies and artistic interpretation. This immersive and supportive environment allows conductors at all levels鈥攆rom students preparing for graduate studies to experienced educators鈥攖o explore, experiment and grow under the guidance of experienced faculty and internationally recognized guest mentors.

Israel Getzov

Israel Getzov

American conductor Israel Getzov joins the workshop as guest clinician. Now in his twenty-first season as Music Director of the Conway Symphony Orchestra, Getzov also leads the Little Rock Winds and serves as Artistic Advisor to the Orquesta Filarm贸nica de Santa Cruz (Bolivia). His previous posts include Principal Conductor of the Tianjin Philharmonic in China and Associate Conductor of the Arkansas Symphony.

His international engagements include performances with the Evergreen Symphony in Taipei and Bangkok, La Orchestra in Ho Chi Minh City, the Shanghai Philharmonic, Zhejiang Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic, and the Cleveland Pops. He conducted the world premiere of Lori Laitman鈥檚 The Scarlet Letter, contributed to major opera productions in Tianjin, and was selected by Leonard Slatkin to conduct the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center.

A former member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Getzov is a tenured professor at the University of Central Arkansas and an internationally recognized clinician known for his clear, effective approach to conducting and musical leadership.

Isaac Terceros

Isaac Terceros is the founder and artistic director of the Santa Cruz Philharmonic in Bolivia and currently serves as Director of Orchestras at 性福五月天 University, where he is also part of the artistic leadership of the Kent Blossom Music Festival. Known for his expressive conducting and innovative programming, he has led performances of Carmina Burana, Les Mis茅rables, and Beethoven鈥檚 Ninth Symphony, establishing the Philharmonic as a cornerstone of Bolivia鈥檚 cultural life. His work has taken him across South America, the United States, and Europe, and he recently served as Interim Artistic Director of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra in Indiana. A passionate advocate for music education and community engagement, Dr. Terceros has taught at the Universidad Evang茅lica Boliviana and held several cultural leadership roles. He holdsdegrees from Indiana University, the University of Central Arkansas, and the University of S茫o Paulo, and has been recognized with numerous academic and cultural honors for his contributions to the arts.
