IB Educator Network (IBEN) Graduate Credit

�Ը�� University (KSU) is partnering with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer graduate credit to members of IBEN who have successfully completed IB assessment marking, training and graded components; completed IBEN events; and/or attended IBEN webinars.

Please read the criteria below carefully to ensure that you are eligible to receive these credits. If you have any eligibility questions, please contact IBEN@ibo.org.

THIS IS NOT A CLASS. This is an opportunity to apply for graduate credit for coursework already taken through IBEN opportunities.

To register for credit:

Step 1: Complete the graduate credit registration form found below.
Step 2: Upon receiving the Registration Confirmation email, complete online payment by the due date listed in the email.
- 1 Credit: $220 USD
- 2 Credits: $440 USD
- 3 Credits: $660 USD
Step 3: Submit the assignment by the deadline given in the email. Early submissions are accepted.
Step 4: Transcripts will be available after May 30th for spring semester credits, August 30th for Summer semester, or December 30th for fall semester. Visit the Financial, Billing and Enrollment Center website to create a Parchment account and request your transcript.

Credits for Examiners

Credits for IB Examiners

NOTE: To be eligible for these credits you must have successfully completed the training for examiners as successfully marked during this examination session. The deadline to apply for Fall 2025 credits is October 1, 2025, and payment must be made before October 4, 2025.

2-Credit Assignment Information

Please respond in the form of a thoughtful essay of approximately 3-5 pages to one the following prompts:

1. From your experience as an IB examiner, explain the significant components of best assessment and grading practices.

- OR -

2. Compare and contrast your understanding of grading practices before and after the IB examiner training. Provide specific examples to illustrate how you may have marked exams differently before and after viewing the resources on the online examiner training site.

3-Credit Assignment Information

Please respond in the form of a thoughtful essay of approximately 5-7 pages to one the following prompts:

1. After you reviewed the Principal Examiner's marks and comments on the examiner training site, how were your evaluation practices refined? How did the guidance enhance your effectiveness as a fair and uniform evaluator?

2. The International Baccalaureate prides itself on serving students worldwide, but the assessments are uniform. What challenges does the global student give an examiner and how are you developing skills as an examiner to keep the standards the same for all students?

Credits for IBEN School-Facing Roles

Credits for IBEN Certifications

You may register for these credits after successful completion of an IBEN Certification for one of the following IBEN roles (meaning that you have been confirmed for a new IBEN role in the past 12 months):

ASSIGNMENT

Please respond in the form of a thoughtful essay of approximately 3-5 pages to the following prompt:

From your experience after the IBEN Certification process for this role, choose three IBEN capabilities that you feel are most relevant to this role. Explain the significant aspects of this capability that must be visible in the practice of this role. What specific components of the certification allowed you to reflect on your vision of the applicability of this capability in the role? Through the certification, in what unique ways did you attest to having this capability? What will you do to ensure this capability is visible when performing the role?

Note that you are allowed to expand one of your learning engagements during the IBEN certification course to submit these credits.

Credits for IBEN School-Facing Event Completion

ASSIGNMENT

Please respond in the form of a thoughtful essay of approximately 3-4 total pages addressing at least four of the following question prompts:

What were your initial expectations for the IBEN Event, and how did they align with or deviate from the actual outcome? Consider factors like participant or school engagement, learning outcomes, and your own personal satisfaction.
How did you tailor your leadership style and content to the needs of your audience?
What specific strategies or techniques did you use to engage those participating in the event, and how did they work? Identify both successes and challenges and explain why certain strategies were effective.
Were there any moments during the event that you found particularly challenging or rewarding? Discuss how you handled these moments and what you learned from them.
How did you incorporate feedback from those at the event and how did it influence the flow and content of the IBEN event?
How might you adjust your preparation for future IBEN assignments?
What did you learn about your own strengths and weaknesses as an IBEN?
Identify areas where you excel and where you can improve.
What new ideas or insights about IBEN implementation of your programme or area of expertise did you gain from delivering the IBEN event?
Consider both personal and professional takeaways and how they might inform your future IB and IBEN practices.

Credits for IBEN Webinar Attendance

To receive one graduate credit, you must have attended two IBEN webinars and submit one essay per webinar.

Once you are registered, you will receive a registration confirmation by email. Then you will complete and submit the following assignment by the deadline listed in that email:

Please respond in the form of a thoughtful essay of approximately 3 pages to the following prompt:

How does the information in this IBEN webinar relate to your current IBEN roles? Did the webinar challenge or confirm your existing understanding of the topic and IBEN Capability discussed? What specific aspects of the webinar resonated with you personally? What action items or further research are you inspired to undertake because of the webinar? How will you incorporate this information into your daily work or future IBEN projects? How has the webinar influenced your thinking or approach to this topic? Are there any aspects of the webinar that challenge your current understanding of your IBEN roles?

Ensure that you are citing outside sources in your reflection that have impacted your thinking about this webinar.
